The finance side of M2M

I'm Claire, a qualified accountant and the financial brain behind Made to Measure Finance.

I've spent my career working hands-on with business finances — from the day-to-day detail of keeping things accurate and organised through to management accounts, cash flow, reporting and budgeting.

One thing I've learned is that good financial management doesn't have to mean complicated spreadsheets, endless reports or accounting jargon.

Often, it's about getting the basics right, knowing which numbers matter and understanding what they're actually telling you.

That's the part of finance I love.

With M2M, I use that experience to create practical tools that help small business owners understand their numbers and make more informed decisions for themselves.

Meet Andy

The teaching side of M2M

I'm Andy, a Design & Technology teacher and the other half of Made to Measure Finance.

I've spent more than 20 years in education, helping young people learn new skills, solve problems and turn ideas into something practical.

Finance and Design & Technology might sound like very different worlds, but there's something important they have in common: complicated things become much easier when they're explained properly.

Good teaching isn't about making something sound clever. It's about breaking it down, explaining it clearly and giving someone the confidence to do it for themselves.

That's exactly the approach we want to bring to M2M.

I bring the teaching, communication and practical thinking to Claire's finance experience, helping us create spreadsheets, guides and content that are genuinely straightforward to understand and use.

Two different backgrounds. One shared approach.

Claire knows the numbers. Andy knows how to teach.

Together, we're building practical finance tools for people running small businesses of their own.

We believe you shouldn't need to hand your numbers over to somebody else just to understand them.

And we don't think finance needs to be intimidating, overly complicated or filled with terminology nobody uses outside an accounting department.
