Finance Foundations is about getting the basics working properly.
We'll help you put practical systems and processes in place that suit your business — and, importantly, make sure you understand how to use them yourself.

This isn't about telling you whether you should quit your job.

It's about helping you understand what would need to be true financially for you to do it.

What we'll do

This is the most important section.

Understand how you're working now

We'll look at how you're currently keeping track of your business finances, the tools you're using and what's causing you problems.

Work out what you actually need

Every business is different. We'll identify the information you need to keep track of and what you don't need to overcomplicate.

Improve your setup

We'll help you create a more practical way of managing your finances using Xero or spreadsheets, depending on what's right for your business and what you're already using.

Put simple routines in place

We'll help you establish straightforward processes for keeping your finances up to date, including what to do and when.

Help you understand it

We won't just set something up and hand it back. We'll explain what we've changed and how to use it going forward.

Where appropriate, we'll look at alternatives such as reducing your employed hours before leaving completely.

For example:

Stay full time → Reduce to four days → Reduce further → Leave employment

What you'll receive

This is where I'd be careful not to promise that everyone receives exactly the same thing, because the whole point is that you're tailoring the foundations.

How it works

1. Purchase Finance Foundations

Buy online for the fixed price of £295. There's no need to arrange a call first.

2. Tell us how you currently manage your finances

We'll send you a questionnaire asking about your business, what you're currently using and what you're finding difficult.

We'll also ask you to share the relevant spreadsheets or information we need to review your current setup.

3. We'll build your foundations

Claire will review what you've provided and work out the most practical setup for your business.

4. Receive your new setup

You'll receive your completed setup together with clear written guidance explaining what we've done and how to use it.

I would give yourself 10 working days for this one rather than 7.

Finance Foundations could involve considerably more actual building than a Pricing Review. Under-promise/over-deliver works particularly well here.

Your Finance Foundations setup will be completed within 10 working days once we've received everything we need from you.

5. Ask questions

You'll have 7 days after delivery to ask questions about your new setup.

And:

No meetings required. Everything can be completed in writing, so you can work through your new setup in your own time.

What Finance Foundations doesn't include

Finance Foundations is designed to improve the way you manage your finances going forward. It doesn't include significant historic bookkeeping, correcting large volumes of previous transactions, statutory accounts, tax returns, VAT returns or ongoing bookkeeping.

If we discover that your existing records need substantial work before we can improve your setup, we'll explain what we've found and discuss the options with you before any additional work is carried out.

No discovery calls. No Zoom meetings. No trying to find a mutually convenient hour in the diary. You can send me what I need in your own time, and you'll have my recommendations to refer back to whenever you need them.
